My Aunt

HAPPY BIRTHDAY FAYE,

Let me tell you about a special Aunt, Faye Toney
She was born on Oct. 22, 1939 in Alabama, the sixth of 7 children born to Paul and Hazel Hocutt. She graduated from University of Montevallo and achieved a M.A. from the University of Alabama. After teaching for 25 years at Minor High School, she retired to do full-time mission work for the Southern Baptist Convention with her husband, Furman Toney. They both served as missionaries to Botswana, Africa and in Waianae, Hawaii. She has traveled to Israel (several times), England and Mexico. Although she never actually gave birth to children of her own, she is a mother to many, including myself. The 25 years of students she taught, the many children in Africa, Hawaii and many more across the U.S. are all her adopted children.
Family and serving others has always been an important part of her life. I have never known anyone as giving, caring, compassionate and having a heart for serving others. I see Jesus in her and she is a loving example for all of us. I love you Faye.

P.S. She makes the best banana bread and carrot cake (without nuts of course).
